Is it possible to tell the story of the great age of discovery, from Columbus to Cook, from the point of view of those who were ‘discovered’?  Probably not, but you can redress the balance, and that is what I have tried to do in my new book Voyages of Discovery, a concise description of the extraordinary centuries where the map of the globe was hammered out.  It also contains a series of facsimile manuscripts about the key .
